This site is a tribute to Frank Wilson, who was born in Greenock on September 04, 1951. He is much loved and will always be remembered.
Frank sadly passed away on Easter Sunday 2020 after contracting the Coronavirus.
Frank was a charismatic and out-going person, always up for new experiences and meeting new people.
Throughout his life he loved music, playing the guitar and singing from an early age. Not a day went by without hearing him sing. Lately he developed an interest in acapella singing firstly through barbershop choruses and quartets and then mixed groups. He also dabbled in more classical groups and enjoyed performing at the Fringe in the Fens.
When he wasn't making music, he was listening to it. Almost every week he would watch some live music from proms concerts at the Albert Hall to Open Mic nights in local pubs where a further attraction was the presence of real ale!
Another enduring interest was his love of the water and boating. Every holiday involved some water based activity - sailing, canoeing, rowing or motor boating. He even tried white-water rafting for the first time when he was almost 60!
As well as hobbies, Frank had a full and dynamic work-life taking on projects in a wide variety of areas both in the UK and Europe. Frank worked hard to master many topic areas from cybersecurity to cross border emergency response coordination. Through his work he made many enduring friendships and had lots stories to tell about his experiences.
Frank is greatly missed by his family and wide circle of friends and colleagues.
